I thoroughly enjoy that, when writing my weekly travel posts, I am transported back to warm summer days travelling through Europe… and this day in Lovere in particular happened to be one of my favourites.
Lovere, a town in the province of Bergamo in Northern Italy perches on the north-west end of Lake Iseo. We visited on a warm and hazy day in June where the sky was a pale blue and the water almost still. After spending the previous day in the hustle and bustle of Milan it was nice to spend a day relaxing by the lakeside, away from (most of) the tourists.
The town, small and quaint, hosts classic Italian restaurants, ice cream parlours and boutique fashion shops. We walked along the lakeside admiring the little boats that line up by the lakeside then sat on the edge of the board walk and dipped our feet into the crisp and cool waters.
We really enjoyed sitting and relaxing by the lake in this beautiful town and sat for hours under the mid-afternoon sun without a care in the world.
Take me back to Lovere.
