Thankful Thursdays // Returning Home

October 8, 2015

After travelling pretty much non-stop since the 1st June, the 1st October signified a time to come home, return to our roots and immerse ourselves back into a life at home in England.
Sharing in memories and beautiful moments; exploring different regions and terrains; enduring and appreciating the changing weather and seasons across the globe; appreciating how your love of another person can grow so immensely when you spend 4 solid months with them. Highlights from travelling (the good, the bad and the ugly) have all made me really appreciative of the once-in-a-lifetime experience of travelling around the world. The memories made and moments shared will last a lifetime and I’m really looking forward to sharing my travelling experiences, photos and videos from continent to continent over the next few months. This week however, it’s good to be home and sharing my first ‘Thankful Thursday’ from the comfort of my new office as I get back into blogging.

This week I’m thankful for…

  • Coming home after a 10 week around the world trip to be greeted by family, banners, balloons and FaceTime calls.
  • Moving into a beautiful new house with furniture and decor that I love (Photos to follow).
  • The return of the roast dinner. After 10 weeks sampling Thai green (& red) curries, Indonesian nasi goreng, Fijian cava, China town delights and American dollar pizza, nothing beats a traditional English roast.
  • Access to old favourites: I’m talking clothes, shoes, make-up, toiletries and jewellery… No, I’m not trying to be materialistic but 10 weeks living out of carry-on luggage means outfits and pampering choices have been majorly restricted.
  • Meaningful meetings; not merely a chance to catch up with friends but a chance to share experiences, vision for the year ahead and laughter.
  • The return of woolly jumpers, scarves and knee boots.
  • Hints of autumn. The golden leaves are beginning to fall!
