Possibly THE highlight of our European road trip was the couple of days we spent alongside Lake Brienz.
I would 100% recommend Camping Au Lac in the town of Ringgenberg, not far from the popular Interlaken. We stumbled upon the beautiful campsite where you can pitch your tent along the lakeside underneath the towering mountains.
The still, tranquil waters of the lake mirror the sky and the mountains, though steadfast, appear ever changing as the sun moves across the sky. In the evening the lake appears dark turquoise as oranges and pinks paint the sky and the fading sun catches the mountain peaks.
Sunrise is definitely worth waking up for in this picturesque location where the rising sun pierces through the morning haze creating an ambient glow. Words cannot express the beauty of this place. If you’re looking to travel to Switzerland this summer, Lake Brienz is a must! You can enjoy sunrise coming up over the mountains, a swim in the clear glacial waters and the sunset mirroring beautiful oranges and reds of the sky.
Peaceful, quiet and magnificent.
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words and Lake Brienz’s outstanding beauty definitely speaks for itself.
