Christmas Eve Box - The Project Lifestyle

With the big day just 10 days away, I thought it was about time to prepare a selection of treats for this year’s Christmas Eve box. Inspired by an idea I saw a while back on Pinterest, a Christmas Eve box is a simple way to start a new family tradition, gathering a plethora of treats ready for the night before Christmas to enjoy with your loved ones.

Everyone’s Christmas Eve box is different, but I took away some key repeating sources of inspiration; sweet treats, cosy comforts and festive fun!

Here are my ideas as to what to include in your Christmas Eve box this December:

A fluffy blanket to snuggle up under. I chose this gorgeous red and white Fairisle print Christmas blanket from Sainsbury’s with soft fluffy underside, perfect for keeping the chill away. There’s nothing quite like the home comfort and warmth of your favourite blanket!

Christmas pyjamas to wear whist waiting for Father Christmas. I know quite a few friends and family who have always shared the tradition of getting new pyjamas on Christmas Eve. These lovely soft, red and white Christmas pyjamas were from M&S and feature cute woodland animals and feel really festive.

A scented candle with festive fragrance. This Christmas Eve Yankee candle is perfectly Christmassy described as scents of a warm hearth, sugared plums, and candied fruits. Your mind can often associate a smell with a particular memory – for example, the scent of the perfume I wore on our wedding day and a candle I burnt on that day while getting ready always take me back to those memories. In a similar way, I’d like to think the smell of the Christmas Eve candle will always fondly remind me of Christmases gone by.

Chocolate or sweet treats to enjoy into the evening. With Lindt being my favourite type of chocolate, it only seemed apt that we each got a gold Christmas Lindt bear, along with cute red bow! Don’t forget though, Christmas is a time of sharing 😉

A bottle – mulled wine, white wine, red wine or something stronger if you fancy. Pick your favourite Christmas tipple to enjoy. You can also include hot chocolate as a family-favourite alongside a range of special festive toppings such as marshmallows, peppermint candy canes or flavoured syrups.

Your favourite Christmas movie (mine’s Elf!) Time to sit by the fire, under your snuggly blanket, wine in hand and chocolate to nibble on as you enjoy a relaxed evening before the big event surrounded by the ones you love. Alternatively, I thought it would be nice to include a book, such as The Night Before Christmas – or other family favourites.
