It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas is just around the corner and we’re in a season of festive fun. With the prospect of getting together decorations, presents, giftwrap, cards, food & drink, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the long to-do list.
An unbeatable source of inspiration (for any time of year), Pinterest is a great place to get ideas down and store your baking, making, creating and decorating ideas for the season ahead. I also love reading the Christmas magazines that line the shelves in the shops, flicking through instagram and having a wander around the shops.
Each year, I like to have a colour scheme to accompany Christmas; this year I’m feeling the glowy lights, clear glass baubles, muted greens and whites. On the hunt for inspiration I saved the following ideas from instagram from some of my favourite brands and instagram accounts:
The White Company
Beautiful decorations, gifts and fragrances. I love the White Company any time of year, but they particularly excel at Christmastime. I love their tree decorations, especially those using clear glass that shimmer under the soft glow of fairy lights.
Over the years I’ve collected a few Christmassy items from Laura Ashley; a favourite being their stag winter snow globe, which is one of the highlights of our Christmas home each year. Again, there are lots of lovely clear glass decorations, which is perfect for our theme this year!
Rose & Grey
A recent find, Rose & Grey is a lovely homewares store that has plenty of gift ideas as well as gorgeous decorations, perfect party pieces and lush blankets and throws. A great find just in time for the festive season! A lot of present ideas for the family (and myself too!)
Lime Wood Hotel in the New Forest dates back to the 13th century and is a place for luxury stays, afternoon teas and spa treats. They always have lovely Christmas decorations including this perfect tree, which is just my cup of tea!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
As I said earlier though, Pinterest is unbeatable for me when it comes to inspiration, particularly at Christmastime with images from all sorts of brands, independents and creatives. This year my Christmas board has had many new additions making it look picture perfect.
I’d love to hear where you find your Christmas inspiration. Leave a comment below with what your plans are this December or a link to your Pinterest account for me to check out your festive finds!
*EDIT* Just to add to this post, when I actually went out to buy decorations, I ended up with a gorgeous selection of glass baubles, glittery reindeer and sparkly snowflakes from B&Q – who I didn’t anticipate would do such delightful decorations. Look out for them in future Christmas home posts, but I’m definitely a converted B&Q Christmas fan!
